I collected thousands of discarded lotus flowers, originally offered at temples this September, during Cambodia’s most important annual holiday of Pchum Benh.  You might know this festival by the Chinese term “Hungry Ghosts” — when the gates of hell are opened for a fortnight. Monks continuously pray for protection, and devotees literally shower temples with cooked rice offerings. I am now preparing another batch of ink, yet preparing this “sacred ink” is only one of  many other things happening with my art — such as my recent move back to Australia, my upcoming exhibition in Paris,  December 2 2021 and much more.
