Flying over Cambodia’s rivers during the rainy season, looking downward, is simply beautiful. Masses of water everywhere. This piece was only my second piece to focus on Cambodian waterways, the Kingdom’s lifeblood. Rivers are now a recurring theme in my work, a fact recorded initially as a goal in my notebook, after painting my first watery piece. When I finished this picture I felt an abundance of joy.
