When I drive north from Battambang, about midway to Banteay Meanchey, I pass a hill made famous in a song by Sinn Sisamouth and Ros Sereysothea. While Phnom Thom has been lost due to its rock quarrying, the original mount remains in Cambodian collective memories due to this timeless song.
